What has AEGON done to help its customers during the financial crisis?

"What people really wanted during the financial crisis was information. Everything was happening so fast, they wanted to be told what was going on, and whether it was going to affect their policies or the cash value of those policies. So that's what we tried to do: explain the measures we were taking and why customers could trust us to fulfill all our obligations. I think talking to people like that, one on one, in a simple, straightforward way, really works. It's much easier to establish trust with someone you've spoken to directly."
