Products and servicesAEGON provides a variety of products and services to individuals, corporations and institutions. Most of these products and services fall into one of the following three categories:
In some countries, AEGON does supply other products, including general insurance, property & casualty insurance and banking services. In 2009, AEGON paid out a total of EUR 16.3 billion in claims and benefits, down from EUR 17.2 billion the previous year[1]. AEGON operates a 'Know Your Customer' principle. This helps ensure customers get the right financial advice and are offered products tailored to their individual requirements. The policy also enables AEGON to detect errors and anomalies more quickly, and helps in the fight against fraud and money laundering.
